Secondary Education

I have been doing this blog for like 5 years now, and writing on the web about Penn State football since 1999.  During the course of that time, I usually spend the days after losses searching for reasons why we didn’t win.  Some games really can come down to one or two plays that depending on the outcome, can affect the final score.  As such, it does not take a huge leap of faith to then blame the loss on a coaching call, a bad call by the referee, the weather, the quality of the playing surface, etc.

In short, the basic premise of this game is that Penn State should win every game and if they don’t there has to be a reason.  It is simply unacceptable in this game of Internet catharsis to admit that the other team was simply better and that the better team won.  Surely we all know that the better team doesn’t always win, and there must be some excuse, be it mortal referees or immortal Football Gods sitting in austere judgment to reconcile this…
