Oh but I did clearly indicate Wally's school for those who read between the lines.
Leon was the character from the "TRUE" themed Budweiser football commercials, Finch was the overweight player from the Goldie Hawn Wildcats Moive where she coached "CENTRAL" High School. And finally Granville, a guest of the STATE PENitiary was the first African American player to join the convict team in The Longest Yard.
Is it not TRUE that the STATE PENN in the CENTRAL part of the state could be anything other than ..... Penn State?

Okay, this used to be my favorite trivia question, but it's now out dated:
Name the 4 teams in division I-A whose mascot is not plural.
I don't think its too tough to name the 4 that used to make up the answer; but I was also wondering how many more there were now. I can think of a few, although one can scratch some off the list if you're only talking football programs.

Stanford Cardinal and Alabama Crimson Tide are 2 of the original 4.
Syracuse Orange is one of the new ones, used to be Orangemen.
St. John's Red Storm is also a new one, use to be Redmen (but not a FBS school).

That's the trouble with this question, it depends on the wording and is a bit too open to interpretation (e.g. football or all sports?). I've also heard a version where you name all that don't end in an 's'.
I'll tell you the 4 answers as I first heard it, and the 4 that I think should have been in it instead. Then, of course SU and others get tacked on to that list.

I'm not sure what you mean by "orignal 4". When I was a kid, Stanford was the Indians. They changed their name/mascot in the 70s, I think.

I heard the question in the mid 90's. Since then a few mascots have gone non-plural.
