Curt has always been my favorite PSU football player. I remember his freshman year kickoff return for a TD against WVU. I believe that was the first year or close to the first year that freshmen were allowed to play. What a special man and an amazing tailback. Wish I had the opportunity to meet and speak to him.

Hey Carl, I remember sitting in the end zone seats and watching him catch the kickoff and run it all the way back. I remember thinking at the time that he could possibly be special.

Nice article, and nice to see that he has succeeded at other things after football.

I think we both knew he could be special that day and he certainly proved it. He was fun to watch, more so than any other PSU back in my humble opinion. I will limit that to backs post 1966 as my caveat.

Then you obviously missed watching Lennie Moore. Talk about another super back, wow!

I saw Lennie and he was great but Curt was better IMO.

I'm glad we have guys we can be proud of like Curt Warner. Unfortunately, we also still have one giant embarassment.

I'll gladly have his 2000+ yard season eliminated from the record books if people forget this a-hole is a Penn Stater.

I don't get it. Where did LJ go astray? With everything he has you'd think he would be a grateful, model citizen.

Guess he is a natural a-hole.

The guy was an a-hole while at Penn State... no surprise that he is an a-hole now.

He has carried an enormous chip on his shoulder for a very long time apparently. I have suspicions but won't launder them here. He is doing a great job all by himself of ruining his personal reputation and respect and beginning to tarnish that or his Alma mater.

The Alma mater including "May not act of ours bring shame" should be sung by the "entire" team to the students at that end of the stadium after each game. It would show unity, student & fan support and appreciation, be a great new tradition and guarantee that they all heard and repeated those immortal phrases which they miss during each pregame performance.

Fortunately we tend to have less former players who tarnish the image than some other schools but one is too many. With all the benefits LJ jr gained here and in the NFL one would think he could be a little appreciative but apparently that isn't one of his virtues.

He certainly is no Curt Warner or Lennie Moore or Franco Harris or........

"ruining"????

Ruining implies there is something left to ruin and that it is possible for him to sink any lower as a human being. He may end up doing worse things but I think his reputation is about as low as it can get. From here on, I think anything he does will just illicit a collective shrug because nothing is unexpected from this loser.

As for him tarnishing PSU, I think his actions speak for no one but him. PSU should just wipe him off the books and be done with it.

It went beyond a-hole to criminal, if rumors were close to true. Let's just say his early troubles with the law were zero surprises.

How this man could be the son of Larry Johnson, SR is a difficult question.

I remember he used to complain about playing time. However I always considered that the competitor in him. Was he ever arrested or anything like that when he was at PSU? I honestly don't remember any incidents like that.
