Yes, we were during my 22 and a half year college career (yes, I did graduate with a BA...I would have gone for a BS but they decided I was full of enough of that, so...).
But seriously folks...Monie Brown and Freddie Barnes...Deron Hayes - we had a nice little team...beat temple one year and beat UCLA (yes, Jim Harrick's UCLA team) in the first round of the NCAA's.
Couple of years later we had a sweet sixteen run which saw us knock off the likes of UNC - probably the biggest win in the program's history that only an inept incompetant like Jerry Dunn could leverage into the mess he made.
I've said all along, ED is the man for this job, and that he would be able to bring in athletic kids who could run with the Mich St's and Illinois' of the conference...
Having said all that, we're a perimeter player and solid big man away from being legit contenders...Geary's a nice player, but our back court is modest, at best, and Cornley's size may be a factor against bigger teams (seemed to be tonight against Bucknell).
Just some opining on my part...don't take me too seriously!
Regards!

is being recruited by PSU and Joe Suhey is trying to convince him to visit. Getting this kid would certainly be a boost for the program....he's certainly better than some of the guys we've given full rides to in the past few years.

Don't be mislead by the name, from what I understand he is a marginal D1 player. Now the younger brother, that is another story.

I watched him play on TV.
His younger brother is a stud. MJJ - well, it would certainly be cool to sit next to his old man at a game

....and we don't have any other marginal D1 players? Just sayin', getting the name could help in other ways....cause it can't get much worse.

Here's some info about him. He's a JC player who originally verballed to Marshall, but reopened his recruitment.
Here's the Scout update. Looks like a promising addition.

"Penn State coach Ed DeChellis hopes to use Oliver at the small forward and power forward spots"
6-foot-8 and a 'small forward'.........man, do I feel short!
Too bad there were some totally classless comments posted on that article......
