I'm interesting in NF.com fan perception of what it'll take for 2008 to be a successful year...What are YOUR thoughts...

I'd like to see us win double digits...with the talent we have this season I think that's within the realm of possibility - there's a lot of similarities between this year's team and 2005.

Losing Lee hurts the defense more than we probably know right now...and rookie QB's splitting time. Both of those issues are fairly big, so with that in mind I don't see undefeated (although I'm willing to drink the kool aid at the appropriate time).

I'm thinking OSU and Wisky are our 2 losses.

I picked 11, but the more you win the more you expect to win. You win 11 and realize how close you were to a perfect season.

Of course I'm just an idiot. What do I know?

Yeah...but football seasons a lot of times are measured in retrospect...furthermore, the importance of stringing some exciting wins together for the sake of good recruiting will be critical...we MUST beat Michigan this year in my opinion - that's the one game that could turn a good recruiting class into a potentially great one...

Ohio State at home will be a tall task, and I think Wisky is better than most Penn State message boards give them credit for.

I think it's gonna be a fun year, however...

I went with 12, but that would include a bowl victory.

My thoughts as well, although I'm really praying for a Rose Bowl appearance. As a matter of fact, I may bring back my Rose Bowl signature pic from 2005!
But more than anything else.....I want to kick Michigan's a$$ just like we kicked the Husker's a$$ in 2002! If we could also follow up with a win at the Shoe....I'd be delirious! In any case, I'm really looking forward to the season and know that regardless of W-L record, the OL tailgate will be a huge success. Have some new food and margarita recipes and a bunch of other SoCal folks coming in for games! My new power inverter will allow for some fabulous blended margaritas!

Not bringing any UCLA fans?

Dunno.....they're fellow PSU alumni! The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive and I don't hold it against them if they are. Especially since SC will kick their a$$ this season!

10 would be a successful season. That's assuming a loss at Ohio State, and one more along the way-probably Wisconsin (although I actually think Wisconsin is worse than a lot of Penn State message boards say). If that other loss is Michigan, then, no. I'd honestly rather lose to Coastal Carolina than Michigan at this point. I really think this team is capable of going 11-1, but 10-2 with a win over Michigan and a potential BCS game would still be a **** good year.

We need to win a big road game at some point. Ohio state or Wisconsin will do. Which is why I am picking 11. 10 is a good but not great year.

11 is a great year.

With the amount of talent and experience we have returning...greatness SHOULD be the expectation for Penn State.

Successful: 9, including Michigan.

We're at the point where we cannot reasonably expect more than 9. If we win 10 or 11, it was a very good year. If we win 12, great.

I look at the schedule and, outside of Ohio State, every game is winnable. In fact, it seems to me that we should be the favorite in every game but that one and probably Wisconsin. Of course, this is assuming that Clark/Devlin is at least a slight upgrade on Morelli.

IMO Wisconsin is vastly overrated. We beat them 38 - 7 last year and I actually think they're going to be worse. They lose the QB, reciever, and secondary. The Linebackers aren't that special out side of Cassillas, and the usual heart of the Wisconsin defense, the D-Line, are all coming off major injuries.
