Bowl Game Projection Thread

Postby Crowbar » Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:32 pm

I can't believe another regular season has come and gone. They go faster every year.

Just to fill in some time between now and Selection Sunday where do you think the Nits go bowling and who will they play?

I predict the Citrus Bowl vs. Mississippi State. A game against former OC Joe Moorhead makes for a fun storyline.

I've seen us projected there as well. I like the idea of facing an opponent we rarely see and a chance to see how coach Moorehead has done in his new role.

I think it will be a lot clearer after the rankings are released on Tuesday. Hopefully the Pac 10 only gets 1 team in the NY6. Where will LSU end up? I think we are 3rd pick in Big 10.

I'm hearing the Peach vs either LSU or Florida but that may depend on if OSU gets in the playoff. If they don't, not sure they will take 3 Big 10 teams for the New Years Six bowl games.

Just want to play the highest ranked team possible. So I'd prefer not to play Mississippi State because they already have 4 losses and are ranked much lower than PSU.

By the way, if OSU beats NW in the championship, they should be in the playoff. They demolished the #1 defense in the country. I look for them to seriously roll it up on NW to leave no doubt.

I know we are better served playing a higher ranked team but I would not be unahppy if we ended up in a game vs. Mississippi State. We never play them, and it would be fun to play Moorehead's team.

Ro, do you think Georgia is going to beat Alabama, or just get in regardless?

I think Georgia loses to Bama, but close enough so that the voters will have to vote them in. Even if Georgia wins, I think Bama gets in. Notre Dame is a lock, and I can't see Clemson losing to PItt.

But, if Clemson does lose to Pitt and if Bama or Georgia get blown out, perhaps things change.

Georgia is not getting in over both Oklahoma and OSU if either of those teams wins. They lose to Alabama they'll be 6th at best behind OK and OSU provided those two both win.
