Office Holiday Meal/Lunch

Postby psuro » Fri Dec 21, 2018 8:40 am

Back when I was on this board before, there used to an off-season thread about holiday lunches/meals that you would have in the office. I will see if I can resurrect that thread.

We are having a holiday (catered) lunch.

Canneloni
Meat Loaf
Vegetarian Lasagna
Baked Chicken
Salads
Potato Salad
Macaroni Salad
Pretzels, chips, peanuts (aka bar food)
Non Alcoholic Punch
Soda
Juices
Cakes
Cookies
Pies

We have 45 people and some are bringing their spouses/significant others.

Anyone else have/had their Office Holiday Meal/Lunch?

Our resident social planner left in June. I applied for the job but am not qualified on paper to take the position, yet I have been covering the responsibilities (4 pay grades above my gig) while also doing my job, but I digress. As a result of this vacancy, we did not have our annual pot luck lunch but will probably all go out after New Years. My new Commanding Office did leave me a case of Yuengling after lunch yesterday, so there is a bright side...

My boss ordered a stack of pizzas delivered for our small group.
The entire department has a catered breakfast for holiday celebration. Menu is... meh. Good but pedestrian.

I could never eat with a bunch of coworkers. Far too odd and garish. Watching people eat is two clicks away from watching them have sex - gotta pass on that one - yikes. I mean - have you really ever watched someone eat? People go out and eat in front of strangers. It amazes me - it likes food brothels. I pass every time.

Dude, eating is like sex but it is something we share. I don't share in the other instance. I love cooking and will just head to the store to think about what meals I want to cook. It relieves me of stress

I'll need a blowtorch to burn that image from my mind as I attend holiday eatfests over the next week or so. Thanks, tempe.
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, man.

Well – don’t get me wrong - I too enjoy the market and often wish the adult theater was closer to my grocer. I have often wondered why the market music does have a more 70s porn vibe to fill the aisles - I think people would buy more. And why not at least one well stocked aisle of lingerie?

I shop every Friday night and I have my favorite cashiers and during “check-out” they love me to use my oral skills to penetrate the air with luscious loaded language.

– as I sensuously place each item on the belt. I begin – oh yes, I like a handful of these dripping wet grapes in the morning… so firm… it’s almost painful anticipation…

have you taken a long hard look at these ripe hothouse cucumbers! You know, they usually range in size from 6 to 9 inches, but these seem wonderfully thick and full. Seems you can hardly get your hand around it! Did you know the dark-green skin is waxed to prevent moisture loss?

These Italian Ribbed Zucchini are absolutely gorged! So much fuller then the Bush Baby Zucchini, but probably not as juicy out of the oven.

I must say, it is hard for me to stay on top of all this new produce, but I find if I start slow and build up, it is easier to penetrate and handle – yep slow and easy just seems to make it all last longer. Sometimes it’s just painful to penetrate - you have to be careful not to thrust it all in too quickly.

I have come to appreciate how much is seasonal - you know - but don't you think that a handful of nuts is hard to beat- they are so good for filling holes in a diet and satisfying one’s nutritional needs.

I had to manhandle these fleshy broccoli heads in the bag – I have never seem them so swollen…
