I agree with Mrs. Dad. Sir Lancelot was a royal pain in the nether regions and should have kept yon lance sheathed whilst in her ladyship's company. It's an age old story. Young buck meets pretty lady, pretty lady sends out the vibe, young buck picks up the vibe, proverbial romp in the hay ensues while his majesty, the royal cuckold, is off slaying dragons and galavanting through the sceptered isle. Bollocks!
Yeah, well, that's like your opinion, man.

None of that detracts from the basic point here, which is that B&W is a bit of a perv.

PS - Lance Alot would be a great porn name.

So, last night my wife slipped, fell and broke her ankle in 3 places. It was a late night in the ER and then it was a bad night because she was in agony. I have to call the orthopedist when they open and get her there so she can get a cast on. But, what a pain in the ass (and the ankle). She won't be able to drive for probably the rest of the summer - which means she won't be able to work. So, that screws up my budget for a few months too.

As grower likes to say, shizza happens and there isn't much you can do about it. But, man it sucks. Mostly how much pain she is in. I was up with her most of the night getting her whatever we could think of to help her get comfortable. Was a long freaking night.

That sucks, B-Dub. We often take a lot of things for granted, not the least of which is our health. When something happens, if usually impacts various other aspects usually in a negative manner. But you obviously know that!

Here’s to a speedy recovery!

Thanks.

It is what it is. And, I'm trying to keep perspective. She broke her ankle, and it may need surgery. But, it will heal. She didn't hit her head or anything. Nothing that can't be fixed. It's a pain in the ass but it's moment in time. She's not now permanently wheelchair bound. A colleague of mine was recently diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. My wife may need surgery. My colleague is looking at chemo, radiation, etc. Given the choices, I'm sure my wife would take the broken ankle, even with all the pain she's in right now. That will pass faster than cancer will.

As for the money, she will go back to work in September. We lose a few bucks but with her being hobbled but it's not like we are going anywhere now. The worst part is she's going to be house bound for a few weeks. But, that too shall pass.

I've never broken my ankle, but a co-worker who once did told me that it hurt like hell.

Late night in the ER, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night, can be a nightmare. Years ago I had to bring my son to the ER on a Saturday night and we didn't got home until dawn.

ER visits are never fun. Go figure! You are correct, keeping it in perspective is the key. That, along with a positive attitude, make all the difference between in the world. It sounds like you guys have the best approach you can thus far.

Actually, the ER wait wasn't that bad. We got there ~7:30 and were out of there around 11. I really can't complain about that at all. They were quick and efficient. But, yes, an ER visit can be a nightmare. I've had to go when it wasn't nearly that fast. We got lucky on that front.

Whatever you do - do NOT watch the new CATS trailer.

Talk about pain. At best it's a bad acid flashback.
