Congratulations to them on their new additions!!! 8-)

With that said, Mr. Franklin is going to have to add a child care center in the Lasch building. :D

After 2019, the sPitt series is on hold until at least 2030. Damn, I'll be near 60 by then. :o

I may be in the minority, but I don't like the Pitt game. Just feel it's a no win situation for PSU. If they win, they were supposed to win and if they lose, then little brother proudly struts about. It's different if Pitt were a higher profile program, but just don't see the upside for PSU when Pitt's program is where it's been for the past 40 years.

That's the way I feel. With 9 conference games you only get a few shots at non-conference games. To have that be Pitt frequently is not what I'd want to see. I don't hate Pitt, I just think of them as "meh". The occasional series is fine. I like the VT, WVU and Auburn series coming up. Temple was on the schedule way too much but thankfully that seems to be over.

The only game on the schedule that I'm not wild about at all is Idaho next year. They were FBS when it was scheduled but they've since dropped back down to FCS. That game should be replaced by another team. If you remember in 2008 PSU was originally going to play Arkansas State but they dropped it instead to play the game with Oregon State. More of that please!

I figured I'd post this here since it starts this season. The NCAA has made a major rule change that a player can play in up to 4 games in a season and still take a redshirt for that season. I remember reading about this a while back. Franklin was all for it as I recall. I think you'll see a lot more guys get playing time in the early season with non-conference foes where the game is well in hand to evaluate if they can be contributors or not. And on the back end a player who has developed all through the season but maybe hasn't played could now potentially play in a bowl game.

Are you sure that eligibility includes bowl games?
Alex Cora sucks. Mickey Callaway sucks. Baseball sucks. Everything and everyone just sucks. Is it football season yet?

I think that change is great - especially for players - they can spend the early part of season getting acclimated to college game and end of season coaches don't have to decide between saving a year for a guy vs playing a guy who might be banged up and needs a week or two off.
